Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-2) during joint drive recovered three shotguns, 98 rounds of cartridges, and a police belt in abandoned state from the Beribadh area of Mohammadpur in Dhaka city on Thursday night.

Sources said these items were among the weapons and ammunition looted from various police stations in the capital following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government last month.

The recovered weapons and ammunition have since been handed over to Mohammadpur Police Station.
According to Senior ASP (media) Shihab Karim of RAB 2 Battalion Headquarters, acting on tip-off, a team from RAB-2 conducted the raid at around 8:30PM on Thursday and recovered the arms and ammunition in an abandoned state. He said the recovery was made during a special operation to recover illegal arms across the country.

The official said RAB has intensified its surveillance and remains committed to ensuring that those responsible are held accountable under the law.
