Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a man in connection with the murder of his wife over dowry from the Khan Jahan Ali Bridge area in Khulna on Friday night.
The arrested man is Md Kashem Sheikh, 25, a resident of Dhonpata village under Fakirhat upazila in Bagerhat district.
RAB-6 confirmed this news through a press release on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Fatimatuz Zohra, 19, daughter of Abdul Kuddus, and wife of Kashem Sheikh.
Earlier, on 16 March, Kashem Sheikh murdered his wife Fatimatuz Zohra over dowry and asked Zohra's father to take her body.
Following this incident, a case was filled against the culprit. Since then, Kashem had been hiding.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from RAB-6 conducted a raid in the area and arrested Kashem.
Later, the arrested man was handed over to the Fakirhat Police Station.
Abul Kashem was produced before the court, and his remand was requested, said Md Ashraful Alam, officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Model Police Station.
