Two AL men held in ammo, weapons in Meherpur

Joint forces in drives detained two local Awami League activists and seized eight rounds of bullet and sharp weapons from Gangni Upazila of Meherpur district early Saturday.

The detainees were Rajon, 29, and Rakibul Islam, 35, all are the resident of the upazila.

Lieutenant colonel Nabil Ahmed of Meherpur military camp said on information, they detained Rajon and Rakibul from Char Goalgram village.
According to their given information, the joint team raided a house of one Luvlu and seized eight rounds of bullets and sharp weapons. A case was filed with Gangni Thana again the detainees in this connection.

Officer-in-Charge of Gangni Thana Monoj Kumar Nandi said Rajon and Rakibul were sent to jail by a court order on Saturday.  They had the alleged involved with Awami League and Juba League politics, he added.
