NATORE, Sept 8: A week-long cleanliness drive began in the district to prevent dengue menace on Saturday.
Md Masudur Rahaman, acting deputy commissioner (DC) and administrator of Natore Municipality, inaugurated the cleaning programme on the Natore Technical School and College ground.
Speakers said, they want to make the municipality a clean town, calling upon all citizens to cooperate with them spontaneously.
People can be alert about dengue through this drive, they added.
They further said, there will be no attack of dengue in the area if the instructions regarding the matter are followed properly.
Among others, Md Rowshan Ali, additional DC (Education-ICT) and Md Rabiul Haque, Natore Sadar UNO spoke.
Principal Abdur Razzak, member of Bangladesh Rover- Rajshahi Region, conducted the function.
The drive is running at nine wards of the municipality. Scouts and rovers of different educational institutions are cooperating.
