A three-day long agricultural fair was inaugurated on Monday at Nalitabari upazila in Sherpur district under the project to increase the concentration of crops in Mymensingh region.
On this occasion, a discussion was held at the upazila parishad premises where Dr. Sukalpa Das, Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Directorate, Sherpur, spoke as the chief guest chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Masud Rana.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Abdul Wadud gave a welcome speech at the meeting where Additional Director of Agriculture Extension Department Sherpur Humayun Kabir, Upazila Fisheries Officer Sarwar Hossain, former Convener of Upazila BNP Nurul Amin and former Municipal Mayor Anwar Hossain also spoke.
After the meeting, registration certificates were given to the nursery owners by the Upazila Agriculture Office. Later, the concerned people along with the guests visited the various stalls of the agricultural fair in the event area.
Earlier, a procession was brought out in the morning from the upazila parishad premises and circled the main road of the town and ended at the same place.
