CHAR FASSON, BHOLA, Sept 9: A total of 12 students of Char Fasson Upazila of the district were killed in police firing in Dhaka      during Student-Mass  Movement.

One of them was Tareq, son of Md Riaz of Omarpur Village in the upazila.

He would reside in a mess in No. 1 gate area of Bibir Bagicha at Jatrabari in Dhaka. Along with his education, he would work at a tailor shop in the area.

He took part in the movement on August 5 and died in police firing.

His family did not get his trace for the last one month. Later on, his body was found in the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on September 1.

On Tuesday (Sept 3), his first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at the Central Shaheed Minar.

On Wednesday morning, his second Namaz-e-Janaza was held on the mosque premises of his village home. Later on, he was laid down in his family graveyard.

His fraternal cousin brother Md Gias Uddin said, after breakfast on August 5 morning, Tareq went out of his mess; at 12:37pm his friends found his mobile phone switched off; but the matter was not informed to his family; yet his communication with his family was not frequent; after August 15, his family tried to contact him; but he was not available; it created confusion; later on, different areas and hospitals in Dhaka were searched for him; DMCH wards were also searched, but he was not found; pictures of all unidentified bodies in the DMCH morgue were sent to his relatives; then, seeing a finger ring his family primarily identified Tareq; on Sunday (Sept 1) his father Md Riaz came to Dhaka; he was shown all bodies in the morgue on the day; and, he was confirmed about his son seeing the finger ring, nose, cheek and head hairs.

Tareq was the eldest among his five brothers. He was in class nine of local Yakub High School. As his father is running their family in hardship, he would do a job in a tailoring shop in Dhaka.
