SHARSHA, JASHORE, Sept 9: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), in a drive, seized lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) worth about Tk 6 crore from Benapole frontier area in Sharsha Upazila of the district on Friday.
BGB Jashore Battalion-49 Commander Lt Col Saifullah Siddique confirmed the matter in the afternoon.
The BGB commander said that a team of BGB was patrolling Amrakhali Check-Post in the afternoon. After sensing their presence, a suspected drugs smuggler fled the scene, leaving behind a bag around 200 yards south of the check-post. While searching the bag, the BGB team recovered six bottles of LSD, 18 Clop G cream, 19 Skin shine cream.
The estimated market value of the drugs is more than six crore, he said.
Legal actions were being taken in this regard, the BGB official added.
