2 brothers held with hemp in Gopalganj

Police arrested two drug peddlers along with nine kilograms of hemp at Kashiani upazila in Gopalganj district on Monday evening. 

The arrested men are Manik Sheikh, 35, and Roton Sheikh, residents of Tilsara village under Orakandi union in the upazila. 

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a raid at Tilsara village around 6:00 PM, and arrested the two brothers. After that the drugs were recovered from their possessions, said Tushar Mridha, sub-inspector of Kashiani Police Station. 

'A case was filed against the duo with the police station under the Narcotics Control Act.'

They have been sent to jail through a court on Tuesday, the police official added.
