Elderly man 'beaten to death' in Kurigram

An elderly man was allegedly beaten to death by a youth over a trivial matter at Rowmari upazila in Kurigram district on Tuesday morning. 

The deceased was identified as Bosir Uddin, 90, a resident of Kaunia Chor village under Datvanga union in the upazila. 

Police haev arrested the accused, Nure Alam, in connection with the incident. 

It was learnt that Nure Alam punched and beat Bosir Uddin during an altercation over the old man speaking loudly, leaving him dead on the spot. 

Golam Mortoza, officer-in-charge of Rowmari Police Station, said that the accused has been arrested. 

A case will be filed in this incident, the OC added.
