34 more DCs appointed

The appointment of newly appointed Sylhet Deputy Commissioner (DC), PK Enamul Haque, who served as Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Feni in 2019, was cancelled due to his previous misconduct with the family members of a rape and murder victim in the district.

In cancelling his appointment, the Ministry of Public Administration issued another order on Tuesday, appointing Mohammad Sher Mahbub Murad, Deputy Secretary of the Road Transport and Bridges Division, as the new DC of Sylhet. PK Enamul Haque will continue his service in his previous position.

On Monday, the Ministry of Public Administration had appointed 25 deputy secretaries, including PK Enamul Haque, as new DCs in 25 districts.

In addition, following Monday's developments, the ministry appointed new DCs in 34 other districts on Tuesday. All of the newly appointed DCs are deputy secretaries of the civil administration. With these changes, a total of 59 DCs were replaced during the current interim government's tenure.

Among the new appointments are Dr Monwar Hossain Molla as DC of Manikganj, Sabet Ali in Tangail, Monir Hossain Hawlader in Sirajganj, Mostaque Ahmed in Satkhira, Ashrafur Rahman in Jhalokathi, Ashraful Alam Khan in Pirojpur, Jahirul Islam in Chuadanga, Banani Bishwas in Netrokona, Monwara Begum in Rajbari, Hasina Begum in Jamalpur, Abdus Samad in Chapainawabganj, Sufia Akter Rumi in Lakshmipur, Yasmin Akter in Madaripur, Fouzia Khan in Kishoreganj, Mahbubur Rahman in Rajshahi, Didarul Alam in Brahmanbaria, Fatema Tul Jannat in Munshiganj, Abdul Aziz in Shariatpur, Ahmed Kamrul Hasan in Bagerhat, Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arefin in Patuakhali, Mohammad Ilias Miah in Sunamganj, Azad Rahman in Bhola, Sifat Mehnaz in Meherpur, Mohammad Nayiruzzaman in Panchagarh, Azaharul Islam in Jashore, Mohammad Shafiul Alam in Barguna, Sharmin Akter Jahan in Narail, Sharifa Haque in Nilphamari, Nusrat Sultana in Kurigram, HM Rakib Haider in Lalmonirhat, Delwar Hossain in Barishal, Ishrat Farzana in Thakurgaon, Rashed Hossain Chowdhury in Narsingdi, and Mobashsherul Islam in Dinajpur.

The outgoing DCs have been assigned to various ministries, divisions, and offices.

Additionally, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Additional Secretary Md Abdul Khaleque was appointed as the new Director General of the Directorate General of Food (DG Food).
