FBCCI president Mahbubul Alam resigns

Mahbubul Alam, president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the apex of organisation of businessmen, has resigned.

He has sent his resignation letter to the Ministry of Commerce through an e-mail.
An official of the ministry confirmed it on Wednesday.

Mahbubul Alam is undergoing treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore and sent his resignation letter from there.

Meanwhile, according to Trade Organization Act 2022, the government has appointed Hafizur Rahman, retired additional secretary and Member of Bangladesh Competition Commission, as administrator of FBCCI.

On August 2, 2023, representative of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries Mahbubul Alam was elected as the president of the board of directors of the FBCCI for the period of 2023-25.
