Shafik Rehman admitted to BSMMU

Veteran journalist Shafik Rehman has been admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) due to multiple health issues.

Dr Rafiqul Islam, BNP's Health Affairs Secretary, visited Shafik at the hospital on Wednesday on behalf of the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman.

During his visit, Rafiqul inquired about the journalist's health condition.

"Our acting chairman Tarique Rahman sent me to inquire about the health of journalist Shafik Rehman. He wished him early recovery," Rafiqul said. 

Shafik Rehman, also a political analyst, writer and former editor of the newsweekly-turned-daily 'Jai Jai Din' returned home from London, United Kingdom, on August 19 after six years.    —UNB
