Two children drowned in separate incidents in Feni'a Parshuram upazila on Thursday.
Locals said a 15-month-old child drowned in a pond around 12:00 noon. The incident happened in the North Uttar Para area under Parshuram's municipal area.
The deceased was identified as Nahida Aktar, daughter of Nasir Uddin, a resident of the area.
Although the child was taken to upazila health complex, she died before arriving there.
Meanwhile, around 9:00am, another child drowned in a pond behind their house at Northe Guthuma village in the upazila while his mother was busy with households chores.
The child was recovered and taken to the upazila health complex, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
The deceased was identified as Mehraj Habib Tasif, 02, son of expatriate Ali Ahmed, a resident of the area.
Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman, physician of the emergency department at Parshuram Upazila Health Complex, said the two children had died before being brought to the hospital.
