A member of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) was arrested on Thursday night in connection with a murder case filed with the Shahbag police station.

An officer of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), the APBn man is Md Sujon Hossain.

He said a video that circulated on social media showed members of the APBn shooting at people in Chankharpul area of Dhaka following the fall of Sheikh Hasin-led Awami League government on August 5, leaving several deaths.

It showed that Akhtar Hossain, the then additional deputy police commissioner of DMP's Ramna zone, was standing by and giving orders.
