Lightning kills farmer in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, Sept 13: A farmer was killed by lightning strike in Damurhuda Upazila of the district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Shahar Ali, 40, a resident of Nawdapara Village under the upazila.
According to local sources, farmer Shahar Ali went to graze his cows in a field in the area in the afternoon. At that time, thunderbolt struck him, which left him critically injured. 

Locals then rescued the injured and rushed to Damurhuda Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Damurhuda Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Helena Akter Nipa confirmed the incident.
