BNP Secretary General Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, "The defeated forces are trying to destroy our unity in a well-planned manner. If we cannot stop their conspiracy, we will not get the benefits of our sacrifice and victory. "
At a reception programme of journalist Mushfiqul Fazal Ansari at the National Press Club, he said, "We ousted fascist Sheikh Hasina government only through our national unity. The defeated forces are hatching conspiracy to destroy our unity in a well-planned manner."
He said, "Mushfique and his friends could not stay in the country due to the torture of the fascist Hasina. They fought from outside the country and we fought against fascism from within the country to bring back democracy in the country."
"Finally we won through an unprecedented mass uprising of student-people. This victory will only be consolidated if we can hold on to it," said Fakhrul.
He said, "Journalist Mushfiqul Fazal Ansari is a true hero of democracy. He will always be remembered by the people of this country."
"When we couldn't talk, Mushfiq served as the spokesperson for Bangladesh's democracy in America and Europe," said Fakhrul.
He said, "The victory that we have achieved through the revolution of the students-peoples, the victory will be consolidated only if we can ensure our unity. There is a well-planned attempt to destroy our unity, it must be stopped."
BNP Secretary General urged everyone to be united to ensure democracy in the country.
