The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has threatened to keep factories shut for an indefinite period from Sunday if the workers’ unrest continues.

The owners of the RMG factories shared this decision after a meeting with advisers of the interim government, owners and union leaders held at its office in Dhaka on Saturday.

It said the shutdown will be under a ‘no work no pay’ policy.

Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) also supported the BGMEA decision.
