DAULATPUR, KUSHTIA, Sept 14: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), in a drive, arrested two youths along with 1.377 kilograms of gold from Daulatpur Upazila in the district on Thursday.
The arrested persons are: Nazrul Islam, 20, hails from Insafnagar Morar Char Village under Chilmari Union in the upazila, and Md Selim Reja, from the same area.
According to BGB-47 sources, acting on a tip-off, a team of the force led by Lt Col Md Mahbub Morshed Rahman conducted a drive in Sarkar Ghat area under Chilmari BOP on Thursday and arrested the duo red-handed along with the gold.
The estimated market value of the seized the gold is Tk 1,42, 19,500.
During the drive, the BGB members have also seized two motorcycles, two mobile phone sets and some cash.
The arrested two were, later, handed over to Daulatpur Police Station (PS) after filling of a case against them.
Officer-in-Charge of Daulatpur PS Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the matter.
