Youth dies from snakebite at Bagatipara

BAGATIPARA, NATORE, Sept 14: a young man died from snakebite in Bagatipara Upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The incident took place in Batikamari Village under Doyarampur Union of the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Ashraf Uddin Arup, son of late Karim Uddin Pramanik, a resident of the village. He was a dish cable trader by profession.

Local sources said that a venomous snake bit Ashraf while he was working in the house at around 8:30 am, which left him critically injured.

Sensing the matter, the family members rescued him and took to Bagatipara Upazila Health Complex first, and then, he was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) following the deterioration of his condition.

Later on, he was declared dead by the on-duty doctor while being taken to the RMCH.
