Rains likely to drench country in next 24hrs: BMD

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thundershowers in all divisions including Dhaka of the country in 24 hours commencing 9am on Sunday.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Mymensingh divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country,” said a met office update, UNB reports.
The country’s highest 223mm of rainfall was recorded in Patuakhali in 24 hours till 6am on Sunday.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, according to the BMD.

The country’s highest temperature were recorded in Sylhet at 33.6 degree Celsius over the past 24 hours till 6pm Saturday while the lowest temperature 23.6 degree Celsius was recorded in Jashore till 6am on Sunday.
