Three found dead in M’singh, Tangail, Kurigram

Three people including a woman were found dead in separate incidents in three districts - Mymensingh, Tangail and Kurigram, in four days.

GOURIPUR, MYMENSINGH: Police recovered the body of a young woman from a jungle in Gouripur Upazila of the district on Sunday.
The identity of the deceased, aged around 25, could not be known immediately.
Police sources said that local people spotted the body of the woman lying on the side of a graveyard in Fatepur Village under Ragopalpur Union of the upazila at around 11:30 am and informed the matter to the police. 

Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Police, however, assumed that the woman appears to have been strangled to death. There are injury marks on her body.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gouripur Police Station (PS) Jahangir Alam confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are investigating the matter and trying to find out the identity of the deceased woman.

GHATAIL, TANGAIL: Police recovered the body of a teenage boy from a paddy field in Ghatail Upazila of the district on Friday.

The body was recovered in the morning from Kaitkai Village of the upazila. 

The identity of the deceased could not be known be known immediately.

Police sources said locals spotted the body of the teenage boy lying on the side of a paddy field in Kaitkai area at around 7 am and informed the matter to police.

Being informed, police rushed to the scene and recovered the body.

The body was, later, sent to Tangail General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

There were injury marks on various parts of the body including the head, police said.

Ghatail PS OC Rakibul Islam confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are trying to identify the deceased and legal action would be taken in this connection.

RAJARHAT, KURIGRAM: The body of a fisherman, who went missing 15 hours back, was recovered from a pond in Rajarhat Upazila of the district on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam, 45, son of late Akimuddin, a resident of Chetana Village under Ghariadanga Union in the upazila. 

It was known that Rafiqul went out of the house on Wednesday afternoon to catch fishes, but did not return.

The family members searched him in various places, but could not locate him.

Later on, locals spotted his body floating in a government pond in Singer Dabrihat Bhatarpar area under Ghariadanga Union at around 10 am on Thursday and informed the matter to police.

Being informed, police recovered the body and handed it over to the deceased's family members without an autopsy as per their request.
The body bore no injury marks.

Police assumed that Rafiqul might have slipped into the pond while catching fish and drowned there.

Rajarhat PS OC Mostafizur Rahman, PPM, confirmed the incident, adding that an unnatural death case was filed in this regard.
