Acting WASA MD Shahid Uddin files appeal against HC order 

Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) deputy managing director AKM Shahid Uddin filed an appeal against the High Court order that barred him to discharge his functioning as acting MD.

Chamber judge of the Appellate Division Justice Md Rezaul Haque is likely to hold hearing on September 18 on the two separate appeals - one filed by the government and another filed by Shahid for staying the operation of the HC order. 

Earlier, on September 8, the HC directed the government to appoint the senior most deputy managing director of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) as its acting managing director under the relevant rules.
The court also issued a rule asking the government to explain under what authority AKM Shahid Uddin has been performing as Dhaka WASA's acting managing director.
