NALITABARI, SHERPUR, Sept 17: A three kilometre (km) muddy road in Nalitabari Upazila of the district is causing immense sufferings to locals including mosque-madrasa-Eidgah going people.

This is the only road for several thousands of people in the upazila.

People of Binnibari Village at Kakorkandi Union strongly demanded metalising this three kilometre, considering their sufferings.

There are two mosques in east and west of Binnibari. The road is the only way for people of the village for going to bazar; in the dry season, when the road is dry, men and vehicles can move somehow; but when it is a little rain, it is turned into a death trap.

A student, Abu Hasan Suman, 9, said, "It it is little rain, we can't go to madrasa. If the road is metalised, we can go to madrasa easily."

An auto-rickshaw driver, Zakir Hossain said, "I ply on this road every day with passengers and goods.  If the road cemented, we will be benefited."

Imam of Binnibari Jam-e-Mosque Md Munsur Ali said, "In the rainy season Musullis suffer mostly on the road. They cannot come regularly. "

Two down roads spread through Binnibari Village, with mosque, graveyard and Eidgah field.

Another mosque is in the west. The road is for going to these mosques.

There are big holes at different places of the road.

Vehicles like battery-run auto-rickshaw, van and motor cycle movements are hampered.

Nalitabari LGED Upazila Engineer Md Rakibul Islam said, "I will send men to inspect the road."
