Foreign pistol, magazine, and 37 rounds of ammunition recovered in Joypurhat

Police have recovered a foreign pistol, a magazine, and 37 rounds of ammunition that were looted from the Sadar Police Station during the recent anti-discrimination student protest in Joypurhat.

The firearm and ammunition were found in an abandoned on Tuesday night in a bush near the Joypurhat Limestone Quarry and Cement Project field, UNB reports.
Superintendent of Joypurhat Police, Muhammad Abdul Wahab, confirmed the matter.

He said that following the fall of the government on August 5, miscreants attacked, vandalised, and set fire to Joypurhat Sadar Police Station, looting various government assets, including firearms and bullets.

A total of 53 firearms and rounds of bullets were looted from Joypurhat Sadar police station.

Police so far recovered 39 firearms and several rounds of bullets.
