An investigation team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), with the accused Shafayet Hossain Shipon in custody, scrutinized the sites related with the murder of Narayanganj student Tanvir Muhammad Twaki on 2013.
The team visited the infamous torture cell, once operated by Azmeri Osman, and the location where Twaki's body was dumped in the Shitalakshya River.
The team, led by RAB-11 commander Lieutenant Colonel Tanvir Mahmud Pasha, examined the sites while questioning locals. Shafayet, currently under RAB custody, is said to be linked to Twaki's murder. His revelations have corroborated information gathered by the investigators.

Azmeri Osman, one of the accused, is son of of late Naseem Osman, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Narayanganj, and a nephew of prominent political figures Shamim Osman and Salim Osman, and the murder is allegedly tied to his associates. The inspection of the torture cell, now replaced by a multi-story building, was conducted to validate crucial details of the case.
Lt Col Tanvir Mahmud speaks to reporters after visiting the sites.
Lt Col Tanvir Mahmud told the reporters that the investigation has gained momentum with the recent arrests of five accused. Among them, Kajol Howlader has already provided a detailed confession under penal code Section 164, confirming Twaki's killing under Azmeri Osman's orders.
The murder, which occurred in March 2013, has remained unresolved for over 11 years. Despite a confession in 2014 by RAB about the involvement of Osman family members, formal charges have yet to be submitted to the court. The current interim government has renewed efforts to bring justice to Twaki’s family, and RAB is working to file a comprehensive report in court soon.
The investigation continues as RAB collects more evidence to close the case, including identifying the vehicle used to dispose of Twaki’s body.
