BB appoints new management board at Nagad

Bangladesh Bank has appointed a five-strong management board at the mobile financial services provider Nagad.

The board, led by KAS Murshid, former director general of the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies, or BIDS, was formed on Tuesday.

The other members are Khondokar Shakhawat Ali, visiting research fellow at BRAC Institute of Governance and Development, or BIGD; Bazlul Haque Khondker, research director at Policy Research Institute, or PRI; Mohammad Anwar Hossain, former executive director of Bangladesh Bank; and Md Farid Ahmed, postmaster general.

The central bank also sent a letter to the director general of the postal department regarding this development.

Husne Ara Shikha, spokesperson for Bangladesh Bank, confirmed these details to bdnews24.com.

According to the letter, the board has been formed to set future operational plans and strategic management for Nagad and and guide the appointed administrator and his team.    —bdnews24.com
