Berger Paints signs deal with French firm ABB Cellier

Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd has joined forces with ABB Cellier, France for establishing world class automated production facility at its upcoming third factory in the Mirsharai Economic Zone. 

An agreement between BPBL and ABB was signed on Wednesday, at the Berger House in the presence of senior officials from both teams - from Berger Paints  Rupali Haque Chowdhury, Managing Director; Md. Mohsin Habib Chowdhury, COO and Director; Mr. Sazzad Rahim Chowdhury, Group CFO and Finance Director; Muhammad Kawsar Hasan, Technical Head from BPBL, Md. Masudul Hasan, Project Manager; and from ABB Cellier, Pierre Leretz, Senior Vice President and Global Manager Blending Unit, and Jean Vandevelde, Manager of Business Process Automation, says a press release. 

Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited (BPBL) began production in Bangladesh at its Kalurghat factory in Chittagong in 1970 and later expanded with another paint production plant in Savar in 1999. For the 3rd factory, beyond supplying key process equipment, ABB Cellier is acting as a process design consultant, ensuring that the project aligns perfectly with Berger's long-term vision.

This future-ready plant of Berger Paints will feature advanced powders & chemicals handling solutions, innovative liquid processing systems, and cutting-edge process control automation with Industry 4.0 technology, all aimed at boosting product quality & efficiency.

"This isn't just about installing new equipment," noted Leretz. "We're deeply involved in every phase, from conceptualizing to design, ensuring the facility not only meets BPBL's immediate needs but also aligns with their broader vision for efficiency, innovation& sustainability."
