JOYPURHAT, Sept 18: Police have recovered a foreign pistol, a magazine, and 37 rounds of ammunition that were looted from the Sadar Police Station (PS) during the anti-discrimination student movement in the district.

The firearm and ammunition were found in an abandoned on Tuesday night in a bush near the Joypurhat Limestone Quarry and Cement Project field.

Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdul Wahab confirmed the matter.

He said that following the fall of the government on August 5, miscreants attacked, vandalised, and set fire to Joypurhat Sadar PS, looting various government assets including firearms and bullets.
