The 'July 36,' an ICT-focused organisation, has called upon Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus and interim government information Adviser Nahid Islam to address corruption in Bangladesh's ICT sector.

At a press conference held at the National Press Club on Wednesday, the organisation emphasised the urgent need for an investigation.
In their written statement, they highlighted that corruption has not only led to financial losses but also impeded Bangladesh's digital development. The statement stressed that addressing these issues requires strict governance and independent audits to ensure proper utilization of funds.

However, such measures have been lacking in the sector, resulting in mismanagement. Government programmes intended to promote ICT innovation and start-ups were cited as biased, with reports of fund misuse.
