12 people found dead in nine districts

A total of 12 people including a woman and a teenage girl have been found dead in separate incidents in nine districts - Madaripur, Lalmonirhat, Pabna, Noakhali, Bagerhat, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Cox's Bazar, in recent times.
MADARIPUR: Bodies of two school students including a girl of class three were recovered in separate incidents on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The hanging body of a nine-year-old girl was recovered in the district's Dasar Upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as daughter of Bides Sarkar of Dhabji Village at Gopalpur Union. She was in class three in a local primary school.
According to police, Meghla's father found her hanging from the ceiling of her room in the afternoon. She was rescued and taken to Kalkini Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctor declared her dead.
Her family initially thought, she might have caused the incident while acting to make a TikTok video.
Meghla's mother cried and said, "Meghla used to make videos. She opened Tiktok ID."
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dasar Police Station (PS) Mahmud-ul Hasan said, police inspected the spot.
In another incident, police recovered the body of a schoolboy in Dashar Upazila of the district on Tuesday after 36 hours he went missing.
The deceased was identified as Shimul Bepari, 14, son of Niranjan Bepari of Rajapur Village in Jhalakathi. He was class eight student of Shahikar High School.
Locals and police said, Shimul had been living in his grandparents' house due for his study purpose. In the early hours of Monday (Sept 16) he went out to attend his tuition and didn't return home.
Later on, on Tuesday evening, locals found Shimul hanging from a branch of a tree at an orchard in Aurakandi Village and informed police.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Madaripur Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Dashar PS OC Md Mahamud Ul Hasan confirmed the news.
The victim's family members and locals demanded justice after a thorough investigation.
LAMONIRHAT: Police recovered the body of a man from a paddy field in Aditmari Upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Ramjan Ali, 65, of Baksipara Village in Hajiganj Upazila.
According to police sources, locals discovered the body around 7am in Chowdhurypara area under Bhelabari Union in the upazila and informed the police.
Later on, police recovered the body and sent to it a hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Aditmari PS OC Mahmudun Nabi confirmed the matter.
Action will be taken upon investigation, the PS OC added.
PABNA: Police recovered the throat-slit body of a man from a paddy field in Santhia Upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The body was recovered from Chulkatai Village under Ataikula PS in the upazila in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Saiful Islam, 55, son of late Mozammel Haque, a resident of Madarbaria Village under Dhulauri Union in the upazila. He was an auto-van driver by profession.
Police and local sources said that some farmers spotted the throat-slit body of an unidentified man lying on a paddy field beside the Chukkatai-Bhaynapara road under Bhulbaria Union in Ataikula PS of the upazila in the morning while they went there for work.
They then informed the matter to the police.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Pabna Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Later on, the body was identified as Saiful Islam of Madarbaria Village.
Police, however, suspected that miscreants might have killed Saiful before snatching his auto-van at dawn.
Ataikula PS OC Mizanur Rahman confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are investing the matter and trying to detain those involved in the murder.  
Additional Superintend of Police (ASP) Masud Alam and ASP (Sadar Circle) Mahfuz Hossain inspected the scene.
NOAKHALI: Police recovered the bodies of two brothers, who went missing on September 13, from the Meghna River in Hatiya Upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Md Haquesab, 34, and his elder brother Md Ershad, 36, sons of Abu Taher, residents of Sukhchar Village under Jahajmara Union in the upazila.
According to local sources, a fishing trawler with 16 fishermen on its board capsized in the Meghna River September 13 last. All of them went missing in the river at that time.
Among them, 12 were, later, rescued while four others including the two deceased brothers remained missing.
Later on, the bodies of Haquesab and Ershad were recovered from the river on Tuesday.
However, two fishermen are still missing.
Hatiya Upazila Nirbahi Officer Milton Chakma confirmed the incident.
BAGERHAT: Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) recovered the body of an elderly man from the Pashur River in Mongla Upazila of the district on Monday noon after two days of his missing.
The deceased was identified as Hamid Sarder, 65, son of late Fazlu Sarder, a resident of Koigardashkathi Village under Rampal Upazila in the district.
It was known that a fishing boat carrying seven people capsized in the Shibsha River in Chunkuri area of Dacope Upazila in the district on September 14 last. Six people could be able to swim ashore, but Hamid Sarder went missing in the river at that time.
Later on, locals spotted his body floating in the Pashur River adjacent to Beximco LPG Gas Plant in Mongla Upazila on Monday noon and informed the matter to the BCG.
Being informed, members of the BCG rushed in and recovered the body from the river.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Tildanga Naval Police in the district Abdur Razzak confirmed the incident, adding that the body was handed over to the Dacope PS for taking legal action.
RAJSHAHI: Police recovered the throat-slit body of a woman from her residence in Shah Makhdum PS area of the city on Monday morning.
The body was found at her residence near Raypara Cemetery under Shah Makhdum PS at around 9 am.
The deceased was identified as Sri Rani, 50, the widow of late Ajay of the area. She had been living alone in the house since her husband's death.
According to the neighbours, Sri Rani had no known personal conflicts with anyone. At around 7 am on Monday, some neighbours visited her home and discovered her body lying inside with her throat slashed. They immediately informed the matter to the police.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Shah Makhdum PS OC Mamunur Rashid confirmed incident, saying that the body has been sent for autopsy and a case was filed in this regard.
So far, no arrests have been made and efforts are going on to unveil the actual reason behind the killing, the OC added.
SAVAR, DHAKA: Police have recovered the throat-slit body of a man from his rented house in Tetuljhara Union under Savar Upazila of the district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Ripon Kazi Sarder, 38.
However, a woman, named Priya Akter, 22, has been detained in connection with the murder of Ripon.
Savar Model PS OC Jahurul Islam confirmed the incident, saying that following reports from the locals, the body was discovered early Monday from his rented house in Harindhara area of the upazila.
It was known that Ripon was a resident of Sonakhola Village in Bhanga Upazila of Faridpur District and son of Habibur Rahman. Meanwhile, Priya, the detained woman, is from Maijdi in Noakhali District. Both the deceased and Priya Akter were living in a rented house in Harindhara of Savar.
SI Jahurul Islam stated that the initial investigation suggests that Ripon was killed in a premeditated attack.
Priya Akter's husband has been on the run since the murder took place.
However, the investigation is going on to uncover further details, the police official added.
MYMENSINGH: Police recovered the bodies of two teenagers from separate places in Gouripur and Bhaluka upazilas of the district on Sunday.
However, the identities of the deceased two could not be known immediately.
Police sources said that efforts are underway to find out their identities.
Confirming the discoveries, Gouripur PS OC Md Jahangir Alam said that they have recovered the blood-stained body of teenage girl from a bush in Fatehpur Village under Ramgopalpur Union of Gouripur Upazila in the district.
Later on, the body was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) morgue for an autopsy.
The body bore several blood spots and a scarf tied around her neck.
Meanwhile, police recovered the body of another teenager from a bush in Bhaluka Upazila of the district on the same day.
Being informed by locals, a police team from Bhaluka PS recovered the body of another unidentified teenager from a bush adjacent to Randia Munsibari Bridge under Dheetpur Union in Bhaluka Upazila of the district, said Bhaluka PS OC Shah Kamal Akanda.
The actual reasons behind the deaths of the duo would be unveiled after investigation and legal actions will be taken further, said the sources from the both PSs.
COX'S BAZAR: The body of another fisherman was found washed ashore on a beach in the district early Sunday morning, raising the death toll to six in the last three days, after eight trawlers capsized in the bay due to the inclement weather.
However, the identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Cox's Bazar Sadar Model PS OC (Investigation) Masudur Rahman said that the body was found at around 6 am at the West Kutubdia Para Point of the beach in the district town. Later on, the body was recovered and sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Earlier, on Saturday, two bodies were found from Inani Beach in Ukhiya and one from Samitypara Beach in Sadar Upazila, and on Friday, two bodies were found at Kolatoli and Pachar Dwip.
Delwar Hossain, general secretary of the Cox's Bazar Fishing Trawlers Owner Association, said that a number of fishermen still missing after eight fishing trawlers from outside Cox's Bazar capsized due to the adverse weather.
