2 killed being hit by truck in Tangail

Two passengers of a battery-powered auto-rickshaw were killed after being run over by a truck in Tangail's Dhanbari on Friday morning.

The accident took place around 7:30 am at Baghil of ​​Dhopakhali in Dhanbari.
The dead were Abu Raihan, son of Abdur Rahman of Jagira Chala village under Jadunathpur union in Dhanbari upazila, and Mofazzal Hossain of Ukhariabari village.

Dhanbari Police Station officer-in-charge Idris Ali said a truck was going towards Madhupur from Jamalpur. On the way, it ran over a battery-operated auto-rickshaw coming from Madhupur towards Dhanbari. A passenger of the three wheeler died on the spot. Meanwhile, three others were injured.

On information, Dhanbari Police and Dhanbari Fire Service rescue personnel recovered the body of the deceased, rescued the injured and sent them to Madhupur Upazila Health Complex. Another person died after being taken to hospital. 

The truck was seized and brought to police station. The driver fled.
