Minor child drowns in Shariatpur

A 22-moonths-old child drowned in a pond at Kakoiser village at Gosairhat upazila in Shariatpur district on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Ayun, 22 months old, son of expatriate Sagor Ahmed.

Local people said that the child drowned in the pond next to his house at around 1 pm. He was brought to Gosairhat Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctor declared him dead.

Pushpen Debnath, officer-in-charge of Gosairhat Police Station, confirmed the incident.
