One killed in Bogura road accident

A rickshaw-van driver was killed and a passenger of the three-wheeler injured after being hit by a truck on the Ranihat-Durgapur regional road in Domargram Bol Dhar area under Kahalu upazila in Bogura on Saturday.

The deceased rickshaw-van puller was identified as Abdus Sattar, 65, son of Muhammad Ali of Dhakanta area in Malancha union of the upazila.

The accident occurred when Abdus Sattar was going to Sabrul Bazar of the upazila taking a passenger on his van. On the way, a truck hit the three-wheeler around 1pm, leaving the rickshaw-van puller dead on the spot and the passenger injured.

On information, police recovered the body and handed over to the family members, said Shahinuzzama, officer-in-charge of Kahalu Police Station.

The injured was admitted to Kahalu Upazila Health Complex, the OC said.
