A ten-member Chinese National Emergency Medical Team will arrive in Dhaka on Sunday to provide advanced medical treatment to the people severely injured during the recent mass movement in Bangladesh.
According to the Chinese embassy in Dhaka, the decision to send off the team was made by Beijing at the request of Chief Adviser Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus.
Meanwhile, the embassy will issue a detailed statement on the team's activities Sunday.
An embassy official on Saturday said the team, comprising of 10 medical experts from West China Hospital, one of China's leading healthcare institutions, is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on flight MU2035 from Kunming at 1:35PM, on Sunday.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen, along with senior officials from the health ministry, will be present at the airport to welcome the team, the official said.
