KPM starts producing paper after one month

KAPTAI, RANGAMATI, Sept 21: After production closer for about one month, Karnaphuli Paper Mills (KPM) in Kaptai Upazila of the district resumed operation on Wednesday (Sept 18) at 9pm, producing 17 metric tons (mt) of paper by one machine in the first phase till 2pm on Thursday.  

This 17mt paper production was confirmed by KPM's General Manager (MTS) Abul Kashem. 

At present, paper is produced by using pulp as raw material, he added. 

He further said, if all things go well, the paper production will increase.

KPM's CBA President Abdur Razzak said, the industry affairs advisor has been very happy for opening the mill after one month.

Also labourers and employees have got relief of their long tension, the CBA leader said.
