Elderly man electrocuted in Noakhali

An elderly man died from electrocution at Begumganj upazila in Noakhali district on Saturday morning. 

The incident happened at Eklaspur village under Eklaspur union in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Selamat Ullah, 70, a resident of the area.

It was learnt that Selamat Ullah came in contact with a live electric wire while he trying to move a wire with stick, leaving him critically injured. 

On information, police recovered the body and handed it to the deceased's family, said Kutub Uddin Lyon, sub-inspector of Begumganj Police Station.
