Low pressure area likely to form over North Bay, adjoining area in 24hrs

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Sunday predicted that a low-pressure area might develop over North Bay and adjoining areas within the next 24 hours.

Due to the impact of the low-pressure system, light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at many places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

It may occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy fall at places over the country, According to the Met office bulletin that valid for 24 hours commencing 9AM on Sunday.

It said mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions and Sylhet and Jashore districts and it may abate from some places.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Besides, the axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. 

One of its associated troughs extends upto North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay. A low pressure area is likely to form over North Bay and adjoining area during next 24 hours.
