JMI Group marks World Peace Day 2024 with festivity

JMI Group celebrated the United Nations-declared World Peace Day-2024 the capital Dhaka with a colourful rally, inaugurated by Founder and Managing Director of JMI Group, Md. Abdur Razzaq, releasing balloons and white doves, symbols of peace, in front of the "Peace Stand" at the Curzon Hall, University of Dhaka on Saturday morning.

The rally began in front of Curzon Hall, circumambulated Doyel Chattor and ended at Press Club intersection. Following the rally, JMI Group organized a discussion session at the Abdus Salam Auditorium of the National Press Club, says a press release.

 Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of observing World Peace Day to create public awareness for achieving happiness and peace for humanity, regardless of nationality, religion, or race. They also urged everyone to come forward to build a world of equality and harmony.

JMI Group, one of the leading companies in the pharmaceutical and medical equipment manufacturing sector of the country, has been celebrating the day with due dignity for the last 15 years.

JMI Group's Founder and Managing Director, Md. Abdur Razzaq, addressing the discussion meeting as the Chief guest, said: "For the past 15 years, JMI Group has been celebrating World Peace Day in Bangladesh. Every year, we unite with an open mind to stand beside the oppressed and work to establish peace and fundamental rights."

JMI Group's Chairman, Md. Javed Iqbal Pathan, said in his presidential speech, "Every member of the JMI family is committed to upholding the theme of the United Nations-designated World Peace Day. Peace is not just for a specific group; it is the right of all humanity. Peace does not simply mean the absence of war but the establishment of human rights and justice."

Special guests at the discussion session included former Director General of the Directorate General of Drug Administration, Major General (Retd.) Mostafizur Rahman, Associate Professor of the Peace and Conflict Studies Department at the University of Dhaka, Dr. Md. Touhidul Islam, and CEO of JMI Builders and Construction Ltd Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed.

The discussion was moderated by Major (Retd.) Abdullah Al Faruqi, Head of JMI Group's Administration Department while AKM Shariful Islam, Managing Director of Window Media Limited, Hiroshi Saito, Director nominated by Japan's Nipro Corporation at JMI Syringes & Medical Devices Limited, and Abhijit Paul, Executive Director of JMI Syringes & Medical Devices Limited were present among others.
