Classmates remember deceased Shazid with flowers during exam

Though he could not be physically present, Ikramul Haque Shazid, a student from the Accounting and Information Systems Department of Jagannath University, his classmates paid tribute to him by placing flowers on his empty seat during the final exam of the MBA first semester on Sunday,
Shazid was tragically shot by police during the anti-discrimination student protest in Mirpur, Dhaka, on August 4. After a courageous battle for his life, he passed away on August 14. A student of the 2018-19 academic session. Shazid hailed from Sakhhipur upazila in Tangail.

Reflecting on the day, Shazid's classmate Raihan Ur Rahman Sabah said, "Today marks the beginning of our MBA first semester exam. In the past, we would prepare together before exams, and if circumstances were different, we would be taking the exam side by side. Although Shazid is not here, he remains with us in our hearts. We carry the belief that his spirit will always occupy his place among us. Please pray for him; may Allah grant him the highest rank in paradise."
Another classmate shared, "Accepting that Shazid is no longer with us is incredibly difficult, but we hold on to the belief that he is still present in our lives. We honour his sacrifice and pray that the Creator places him in the highest abode of paradise."

Professor Dr Shamsun Nahar, chair of the Accounting and Information Systems department, remarked, "Shazid was a vibrant and active student, poised to lead in building a new Bangladesh. Had he been alive, he would have taken this exam with us. This initiative to remember him today is a testament to our enduring bond. We will keep Shazid in our hearts forever."
