2 die in Kurigram lightnings

Two persons were killed in lightning strikes at separate places in Kurigram's Ulipur upazila.

The accidents happened around at Saheber Alga Unon of the upazila.
The dead were Kajali Akter, 10, daughter of Abdul Quader, a resident of Haquer Char of the upazila, and Jamal Uddin, 50, from Alga Char of Jahajer Char.

According to locals, the girl and her mother Nurina Begum, 40, went a Char to fetch cows on Tuesday afternoon. At that time, Kajali Akter and a cow died due to a sudden lightning strike.

Earlier, on Monday evening, farmer Jamal Uddin died in a lightning strike while returning home with cows.

Saheber Alga UP chairman Mozaffar Hossain confirmed the news.
