BNP Standing Committee Member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan said on Tuesday, "Relations between Bangladesh and South Korea will progress with mutual economic interests, fulfilling the expectations of the people."
Speaking at a press briefing after the meeting, Moyeen said that BNP Secretary General Fakhrul Islam Alamgir had met with the South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh, Park Young Sik, at the BNP Chairperson's Gulshan office. He added, "Economic cooperation and investment between Bangladesh and South Korea were the main focus of our discussions. We also spoke about the student revolution and the significant changes in Bangladesh that followed."
"South Korea has not come to Bangladesh for political purposes. They have come with economic objectives, aiming for mutual benefits for the people of both countries," he also said.
Moyeen further remarked, "Seventeen years of corruption have ruined the business environment in this country. We discussed how to revitalise the business climate in Bangladesh."
He concluded, "We have historically maintained relations between the two nations through economic policies. If BNP is entrusted with governing the country in the future, we will prioritise the interests of the people of Bangladesh, alongside those of South Korea, and move forward on the path of development while maintaining the friendship between both nations."
