Father, daughter go missing in Manikganj's Dhaleswari river

A girl went missing while learning to swim in Dhaleswari river in Manikganj. While trying to rescue her, her father also went missing.

The incident took place around 8 am on Wednesday at Barahirchar village under Manikganj Sadar upazila.
Fire service diving team is working to rescue the missing father Mohidur Rahman and his daughter Rafsa, residents of that village.

Aricha River Fire Station diving team leader Dewan Zahidur Rahman said Mohidur Rahman, a businessman by profession, went to the river near his house to teach his nine-year-old daughter to swim. Mohibur tied two bottles to Rafsa's body and released her into the river. After some time, Rafsa drowned into the river as water entered the bottle. Later, while trying to rescue his daughter, Mohidur also disappeared.

The diving team leader further said 10 persons from Singair and Manikganj fire service and five members of the diving team are working to rescue them since 10 am.
