5 traders fined for selling hilsa at high prices in Dhaka

The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) in a drive fined five traders Tk 42,000 for selling hilsa at high prices at Karwan Bazar in Dhaka Wednesday.

A DNCRP team, led-by Assistant Director Abdul Jabbar Mondol, conducted the drive.

Abdul Jabbar Mondol said they conducted the drive as part of their initiative to control hilsa price hike in different markets in the capital and other places.

He said they will continue the drives to keep the hilsa price to a tolerable level.

Traders should maintain proper receipts for buying and selling fish, he said.
