College student killed as bus hits easy-bike in Gopalganj

A college student was killed and another was injured after a passenger bus hit a battery-run easy-bike on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Paikkandi union of Gopalganj Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.

The deceased Rezwan Sardar, 24, son of Masum Sardar of resident of Bijaypasha Purbapara village of the upazila,  was a third year student of Economics Department of Gopalganj Government Bangabandhu University College. The injured was the driver of battery-run easy-bike.

Sub-inspector (SI) of Bhatiapara Highway Police AKM Hasanuzzaman said the accident occurred on the highway in Bijaypasha crossing area of the Sadar upazila at around 7:45PM, leaving the easy bike passenger Rezwan dead on the spot and its driver injured.

The injured was taken to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital and the body was sent to the hospital morgue.
Police seized the bus but its driver and helper managed to flee from the spot, he added.
