Corruption must be rooted out from our society

Published : Thursday, 26 September, 2024 at 12:00 AM  Count : 580
I do not know whether these words will reach their ears? Still writing so that my dear readers will know and at the same time the pain and suffering of my heart will be a little lighter. Now is the time to break the paradise of bribery, corruption, looting, syndicates, expropriation, defaulted loans and money laundering around us and build a society and country without discrimination. Bribery is so prevalent in our country that files are not signed in the office without bribery.

Through the anti-discrimination student movement, students have given us a new message to build a non-discrimination society and country where people will live with their full rights and dignity. Despite the infrastructural development, the paradise of bribery, corruption, looting, syndicates, encroachment, defaulted loans and money laundering has created many social, economic, political and psychological limitations for us. If we really love the country, now is the time to root out bribery, corruption, looting, syndicates, expropriation, bad loans and money laundering all around.

According to the political considerations of our country, it is not possible to eradicate this heavenly kingdom under the leadership of any political government.  Only an interim government can do this. If that government is patriotic, there is a responsibility towards the country and the people of the country. As the saying goes, one drop of time is equal to ten drops of time. In fact, it is very important to take timely steps to prevent political and economic corruption in the country and to establish social governance. The interim government, from a neutral position, can ensure justice based on the views and facts of all parties. An interim government may indeed be preferable if it is truly neutral and apolitical. Only an interim government can do this. Interim governments, being politically disinterested and neutral, can operate independently and fairly, which is not possible for a sitting political government.

The social, economic and class inequality created through bribery, corruption, looting, syndicates, usurpation, defaulted loans and money laundering abroad can only be properly resolved by the interim government in the political considerations of our country. Law breaking for the benefit of the few and the consequent deprivation of the many was a hallmark of the Awami regime. This was seen in almost all cases. Hasina's government was brought down by anti-discrimination movement of students against this. But the anti-discrimination spirit is not yet observed everywhere.

Health, education, food, shelter, etc. are basic human rights, but each is now a salable commodity. As these are sold at a high price, the poor people of the country are almost deprived of this. They are deprived in every way. No responsibility, no accountability. Everyone is looting our common pockets in the name of business. It is as if there is no other way open to us except to look and see. We have become hostages in the hands of the syndicate business owner class. There is no relief anywhere. No right to life, no right to education, no food security - no safe food.

There are only adulteration ceremonies, bribery and various arrangements of corruption. No right to health, no guarantee of natural death. According to sources from the Ministry of Health, on September 4, the PSC sent the recommendation for refinement to the Ministry of Public Administration. BCS health cadre doctors complained against the recommendation on September 5. Then, without publishing it in gazette form, some parts of the recommendation were sent to the Ministry of Health for investigation. After the Ministry of Health sends the investigation report, the Ministry of Public Administration will take a decision. It is expected that the ministry will follow the rules and take the right decision without discrimination. And like all other fields, there are allegations of massive corruption in the medical field during the previous government. It is hoped that the interim government will conduct a fair investigation into the allegations and bring the medical sector in line.

What needs to be done: To ensure transparency in administrative proceedings and establish accountability. Taking effective measures to prevent corruption and maintain law and order.Resolving bad debt issues and reviewing credit systems. Reforming the economic system to stop money laundering and economic abuse abroad. Setting up of special commissions to impartially investigate bribery, corruption, extortion, syndicates and other illegal activities. To ensure impartial investigation of matters such as corruption, defaulted loans, and smuggling and to take legal action against the persons concerned. Reform laws to curb corruption and ensure administrative transparency. Enactment and effective implementation of strict anti-corruption laws. Ensuring transparency and accountability in the functioning of police and law enforcement agencies, so that they can take strict action against corruption. Reorganization of debt management and economic control systems. Strict vigilance and review of foreign economic relations to prevent money laundering abroad. To sensitize the public against corruption and injustice and to inform them of their legal rights.

People's mental reform is also important. If we fail to reform ourselves, then the application of the law and its benefits will never reach us. Reform the electoral process to ensure transparency in future elections and prevent political corruption. Ensuring the autonomy of the Judiciary and introducing speedy judicial process so that effective action can be taken against corruption and crime. Enhancing the efficiency of administrative management and making necessary reforms to reduce opportunities for corruption.

To prevent bribery, corruption, looting, syndicate, possession, defaulted loans and money laundering abroad, some exemplary programs and plans should be adopted. It is possible for the current interim government to make the country a prosperous and knowledge-strong country by preventing bribery, corruption, looting, syndicates, expropriation, defaulted loans and money laundering abroad.
