Indian national arrested by BGB for trespassing in Kurigram

An Indian man was detained by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) for trespassing near the border in Kurigram's Bhurungamari on Wednesday night.

The detained was identified as Mozaffar Hossain, 48, hailed from Motherganj village under Sahebganj police station of India's Cooch Behar district.
The patrol team of Bagbhandar BOP of Bhurungamari upazila of Kurigram district under Lalmonirhat Battalion (15 BGB) arrested him from Dalvita area of ​​Bhurungamari union around 9:30 pm.

BGB Lalmonirhat Battalion Acting Captain Major Asiful Islam Siddiqui said on a tip-off, Baghvander BOP Commander was informed that two Indian nationals have entered Bangladesh illegally near the border. Later, they arrested the Indian man. Another escaped inside India while they were being questioned.

BGB filed a case against the arrested and handed him over to Bhurungamari Police Station.

Bhurungamari Police Station OC Ruhul Amin said the detained has been sent to Kurigram court.
