6 robbers held in Ctg

The Coast Guard arrested six robbers while preparing for robbery at the Bay of Bengal in Chittagong on Thursday.

Two locally made fire arms, one round of bullet and knives were recovered from them, confirmed Lt. BN Md. Syam-ul-Haq, media officer of Bangladesh Coast Guard on Thursday afternoon.

The arrested people are - Touhidul Islam Akash, 22, Md. Monir Uddin, 23, Md. Rubel, 32, Md. Faruk, 22, Md. Sohail, 25 and Md. Zahid, 25.

They all are active members of the notorious Rashed-Ghiyas gang.

They all hailed from Gahira Dobashi Bazar area under Anwara Upazila of the district, according to Coast Guard sources.
