369 puja mandaps to be set up in Natore

NATORE, Sept 26: A total of 369 puja mandaps will be set up in the district for  Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community.

This information was confirmed at a meeting with the deputy commissioner (DC) on Monday. It was held in the DC office conference room. 

Acting DC-Natore Md Masudur Rahaman presided over the meeting. Lieutenant Colonel Muktadir, Additional Police Superintendent Shariful Islam and Senior Vice-President of the Puja Udjapon Committee Advocate Khogendra Nath Roy spoke at the meeting. 

According to the meeting decisions, police, Ansar and private forces will perform duties beside puja mandaps and in other important places during the festival to ensure security. Besides, CCTV cameras will be set up in each puja mandap for monitoring the situation inside and outside the mandaps.

A control room will be set up. A mobile team of RAB and police will work separately.
