Man crushed under train in Thakurgaon

THAKURGAON, Sept 26: A man was crushed under a train in Sadar Upazila of the district recently.

The accident took place in Purba Parpugi Dangipara area adjacent to the Shibganj Railway Station of the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Liton, 37, son of late Abdul Maleq of the area.

Police and local sources said Liton was a drug addict. After consuming drugs, he was sitting on the railway track in the area. At that time, a Dhaka-bound truck from Thakurgaon hit him, leaving him dead on the spot.

Being informed, Railway Police recovered the body from the scene and handed it over to the deceased's family members after completion of an autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge of Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station ABM Feroz Wahid confirmed the incident, adding that an unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
