Ministry allows 49 cos to export hilsa to India

The government decided to allow the export of 3,000 tonnes of hilsa to India on the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja. The Ministry of Commerce has allowed 49 companies in the country to export 2,420 tonnes of hilsa till Wednesday.

The Chief Controller of the Import and Export Controller, an organization under the Ministry of Commerce, was informed about the permission to export 2,420 tonnes of hilsa. 49 institutions have been given permission. Among them, 48 companies will export 50 tonnes to 2,400 tonnes and one company will export 20 tonnes of hilsa.

The deadline for applications for the hilsa export permit was Monday. All new and old applications and related documents are scrutinized and final approval is given for the export of hilsa. Eight conditions are given against this. According to the conditions, the permit will be valid till October 12.

The conditions with which the export of hilsa is allowed every year have been kept this time as well. The conditions are compliance with existing export policy regulations, manual inspection of hilsa by Customs authorities and submission of export documents to the Ministry of Commerce at the end of each consignment.

Besides, not to export hilsa more than the allowed amount, not to transfer the permit in any way and not to export under contract (sub-contract) without an authorized exporter.

It has also been said that the government can stop the export at any time. There are always these conditions.

The companies approved for the export of hilsa are Arif Sea Foods, Zara Enterprises, Satta Fish Feed, SAR Enterprises, Nahian Enterprises, Tanisha Enterprises, Rupali Sea Foods Ltd, Lucky Enterprises, Tiger Trading, Ripa Enterprises, JBS Food Products and Industries Ltd. , Mashfi & Brothers, Mahima Enterprises, Seven Star Fish Processing Company Ltd, Rahman Impex, Asif Impex, Noman Enterprises, Jamuna Agro Fisheries, Rupali Trading Corporation, Satta Fish, Pacific Sea Foods Ltd, JJ Trading International, Biswas International, Capital Export Import & Company, Arpita Trade International, Sumon Traders, Sajjad Enterprise, Anchal Enterprise, 2H International, MAP International, Sardar Export & Import, Yuva Trading, Faria International, Asfa Trade International, Standard Food Corporation, JS Enterprise, Padma Agro Fisheries, National Agro Fisheries, M/s Ahnaf Trading, Nafiza Enterprises, Deep Sea Fisheries Ltd, Masud Fish Processing, RK Traders, Barshti Enterprises, Bhai Bhai Enterprises and Lokaj Fashion.

Among these companies, Lokaj Fashion has received approval to export 20 tonnes, and all other companies have received approval to export 50 tonnes of hilsa.

It is to be noted that on August 11, Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhtar said, "The countrymen will not get hilsa, and it will be exported abroad, this cannot happen. Country should be given importance first. After that it will be exported."

On September 21, the Ministry of Commerce suddenly announced the export of 3,000 tonnes of hilsa to India. The next day on September 22, Finance and Commerce Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed told reporters that hilsa fish is being exported to India for the greater interest and the decision of the highest level.
